Carter is Nine Months Old

Carter turned 9 months on April 27th. This past few weeks have been very busy. On April 19th I had surgery to remove my gall bladder. The hardest thing was not being able to pick up Carter for a couple of weeks. I am now fully recovered and feeling better. Carter did great with everything and him and daddy had some serious bonding time. He just keeps changing every week. His hair is getting curly and he is starting to look older with 6 of his baby teeth in. He can cruise from one thing to another now, so close to walking. He differentiates between Clay and I, which is so neat. He is starting to really hate the diaper changes. You can't hold him down for anything because he is always on the go!! Carter is so curious of everything. It is awesome to watch him learn and figure out new things. This past 9 months has went by too fast!

Easter was such a beautiful day! We went to breakfast at G-Ma and Papaw house, then to church with them and Aunt Christy and Uncle Brad. For lunch we went out to Aunt Vickie's house for lunch with Nana and her family. The weather was beautiful and Carter looked so handsome in his tie. God has truly blessed us!!

Wow, Carter has been changing so much this last couple of weeks. He was just waiting for the 8 month mark to start everything. When he was 8 months and 1 day he started crawling. Now he is in to absolutely everything. He heads straight for the dog food every time. He has also started blowing spit bubbles. He thinks it is pretty funny! We have just transitioned to 12 month clothing. The 6-9 won't fit around his belly anymore. He continues to be more animated every day. He loves to hear is voice. There is definitely been lots of ma ma's. I consider it his first word. Rough housing with daddy, is one of his favorite things. He is a tough little guy! And he has discovered a love for ceiling fans, I guess they are very interesting. His schedule has remained about the same; 4-5 bottles/nursing a day and about 4 jars of baby food. He has tried lots of the second foods now. He is a good eater (as you can tell from the pics). He has also tried some finger foods, for babies, that he loves. They actually taste pretty good! Our little boy is growing up so fast. What an amazing past 8 months!

First Swim Lesson March 10

Hi Grandma, do you see me.
What is this thing, mom?

His swim lessons have been so fun. He really likes being in the water. He also loves looking at all the other babies. Grandma (g-ma Morgan) and daddy have both gotten to come to his lessons. He has swam on his tummy, floated on his back, "jumped" to mom, went underwater, and slide down a slide. I hope it keeps enjoying it.

Carter keeps growing up too fast.

It is unbelievable that my little boy is close to 8 months old. He is getting so big (probably around 20-21 lbs). His hair has really filled in, and is dark brown. Everyday he learns more and is more aware of his surroundings. He has tried almost all of the 1st foods and a lot of the second foods now. He likes about everything (peas and green beans are not his favorite). We are mostly nursing full time, but this weekend he did have a couple of bottles of formula. About 1 1/2 weeks ago we noticed his first tooth breaking through. It is his bottom right tooth. Then this week we noticed both his top two teeth are cutting through too. Before too much longer were going to get some teeth showing. I will miss those gummy smiles, they are so sweet. He is so close to crawling, he does take about 2 movements forward and then dives. He likes getting up on his feet and hands, almost like a bear crawl. He has started to babble a lot. It is mostly ba bas, but I am sure he has said a couple of ma ma's. I do have some witnesses!!! He still sleeps around 10 hours a night. Some nights a little more and others a little less. Everyone really enjoys their time with Carter. He is always the star of the show, and he knows it. He just stares you down until he knows you are looking at him. He has also started swimming classes. He absolutely loves them. He just kicks and splashes everywhere. He has successfully went underwater about 4-5 times with no cries. Our sweet little guy, just keeps getting sweeter!!

Six Months Old

Ouchie!! Those shots hurt
How much do I weigh?

On January 27th, Carter turned six months old. He is changing every day and getting cuter (if that was even possible). He can sit up really good on his own. He is so much more aware of his surroundings. Now when someone walks out of the room he notices and sometimes cries. He can rotate and go backwards, but so far no crawling yet. He has tried lots of veggies and fruits. So far, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, pears, and bananas. He liked the first three veggies, but was not as crazy about the peas, but the fruit he is loving. He is still getting 5 feedings a day of milk, along with rice or oatmeal cereal, and 1-2 veggies/fruits a day. The nursing has continued to go well. He is definitely a good little eater!!

His six month stats are:

Weight: 18.3 lbs (60%)
Height: 27.5 in (81%)
Head Circ 17.3 in (48%)
