Mason Andrew - 07/30/12

 Family in to hold Mason

The first night in our room...he looks like an angel.
My two boys together.  These pictures melt my heart.

I was scheduled to be induced at 5am on Monday, July 30th.  We got to Mercy hospital and were so anxious to meet this little guy.  The past few months had been extremely stressful and I had spent so many hours thinking about my baby.  I was dilated to a 3 when I first got there, Dr Lehnert started the pitocin and broke my water.  We were all anticipating a quick labor.  The first few hours were slow.  I only progressed to about 4-5 by 12:30.  I was having to constantly turn sides because his heart rate was dipping.  The nurses said he was on his umbilical cord.  Then they also had to put in the internal monitor.  As time went on and the nurse never left our side I was starting to be concerned.  They were watching Mason very closely.  The continued to up to level of pitocin through out the morning.  Around 2ish I started feeling very nauseous, then the worst part, I could feel all the contractions.  It was painful and I couldn't do anything but cry while Clay held my hand.  I did get another dose of the epidural straight in to the IV in my back.  The pain started to go away.  Than the nurse checked my again around 2:30 and I was at a 10!!  Wow the last part went fast.  The room started being prepared.  The nurses all were coming in and out of the room.  We did a couple of "practice" pushes and doctor was called.  He got there and a couple of good pushes later there he was.  Poor baby had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and body.  I looked at him, even though he was blue, and just knew everything was fine.  He went over to be examined and they said he is little, but healthy.  Weighing just 6 lbs, 9 oz and 21 1/4 in long.  Mason Andrew was finally here!  I was so relieved that everything was fine.  What a wonderful day.  Big brother came in to meet him and did great.  When he left he said bye Mason, I love you...

Go Karts for Carter's 3rd birthday

Grandma got Carter a cupcake on his actual birthday
Then Carter, dad, and I went down to Branson to ride Go Karts.  It was Carter's first time and he did great.  He loved it!!  He had a huge smile on his face the whole time.  He is definitely my little daredevil.

Just after he got off his first ride.
Going up the heavy metal highrise.
Bumper boats to end the evening.

Zoo time for Carter's 3rd birthday

Grandma, Henry, Carter, and mom made a special trip to the zoo on Carter's 3rd birthday.  We had a great time.  It was hot and I thought for a while I was going in to labor, but the boys had lots of fun.  We got to fed the fish, pet some goats, watch the elephants get a bath, ride the train, and some other fun things.  I was so glad to spend the day with my big boy!  He has grown up so much!

Mason's Room and Belly Pic

These are pictures of Mason's finished nursery.  I was so excited how cute it looked when it all came together.  The theme was Dr. Seuss, Oh the Places you will go.  I had decided on the theme a long time before I was even pregnant.  I love how bright and fun the room ended up being!  A very special room for my perfect little man.

Picture of 38 weeks pregnant!  I was ready to pop!!!
