Christmas Day

Picture with mom...both smiling.
This cheese face cracks me up. It really shows his funny personality!!
Dad trying to hold Carter still, which was very hard after all the excitement on Christmas.
Oh wow, look at my new guitar.
Henry is pretty interested too.
All the toys that Santa brought Carter. He must have been a good boy!
Didn't even know what to play with first.
Whoa mom, what is this thing.
Have to wrestle around with dad.

Getting the hang of our sit and spin.

On Christmas we had breakfast casserole and Nana and Papa Ken came over with Meme and Papa. We had breakfast casserole and coffee and watched Carter play with all of his toys. Then we went to Aunt Vicki's for lunch with some of Clay's side of the family. We enjoyed great food and wonderful company. We ended our busy day at my Aunt Becky's with some of my family. The yearly Christmas exchange was fun. The kids all got lots of good gifts. We had a yummy dinner to finish off the night.

I have always loved Christmas and having Carter around now has made it even more special. It brings back all the fun childhood memories of when I was a kid. There is nothing better than the excitement of Christmas morning. Even though Carter isn't quite old enough to fully understand what all of it is about, I look forward to all of our future Christmas's together. The holidays are always a great reminder about all the important things in our lives! I fill so blessed!! What a wonderful family we have.

Celebrating Christmas Eve

Carter loves Christmas trees, he is at Grandma and Papaw Morgan's house

What a sweet picture of Carter with his grandparents.
He got so many toys, but had to examine what Henry got!

Pretty much the best picture we got with Carter and daddy.

The Caldwell family watching Carter read one of his new books. He loves to read!!

A sweet picture with G-ma with reindeer antlers and all.

For Christmas Eve we went over to Nanu's and Kay's for lunch. Uncle David was in town, so Carter got to spend lots of time with him this week. We opened gifts there and Carter had to take a nap because he got a little cranky. He woke up ready to go!

Then for dinner we went over to my parents. We had a little exchange with just G-ma and Papaw and Christy, Brad, and Henry. It was so much fun seeing all of your new toys. You helped Henry out with playing with all of his things too. What a wonderful Christmas Eve!

December Pictures (16 months old)

This is Carter investigating the tree right after we put it up. He actually broke two ornaments within about 10 minutes...so all of the ornaments were placed on the top of the tree.

Carter eating his peas, it is his favorite veggie.
He kept playing with a storage box I had out, so I just had to take a picture.
He is so proud of himself for opening the lid on his new straw sippy cup. It was just so cute.

Oh my, I can't believe how my little man changes each day. He is a little sponge absorbing everything around him. He has a new thing with turning off the TV and booing himself. It is pretty funny except when dad's trying to watch a big football game. Carter is also still wanting to read all the time. We spend lots of time reading and sitting on mommy's lap. I love our peaceful times together. Although he can also be challenging at times too. We are starting to see more stubborn behavior occasionally. When Carter really doesn't want to do something it becomes a fight. Being a parent is an ever changing challenge. With each new stage comes more fun and also different challenges.

Here Comes Santa Claus...

We were not too sure about this guy...

Nope not really liking Santa.
OK, this guy is super scary...please get me away from him.

We went up to MSU to go meet Santa, and lets just say last year was much easier. Carter was not liking Santa one bit! At least we didn't have to wait in line at all. I think Santa was a little worried that Carter was going to pull is beard off. It was pretty funny!
